Frequently asked questions
How does the GuessNudge solver work?
You enter the guesses you have already played and mark each letter as Correct, Misplaced or Absent. GuessNudge turns those marks into constraints — exact positions, forbidden positions and minimum and maximum letter counts — and filters an independently processed five-letter English word list down to the words that fit every clue.
What do correct, misplaced and absent letters mean?
Correct means the letter is in the word and in that exact position. Misplaced means the letter is in the word but somewhere else. Absent means the letter does not appear in the answer, subject to repeated-letter logic.
Does GuessNudge reveal the answer?
Only if you ask it to. The solver shows how many words are still compatible, and the Give Me a Nudge panel starts with a light hint. You have to keep tapping to see a stronger hint, a recommended guess, and finally the full candidate list. No word is ever guaranteed to be the answer.
How does Give Me a Nudge work?
It reveals help in four steps. Nudge 1 is a light directional hint, Nudge 2 points at a valuable letter or unsettled position, Nudge 3 shows the Best Next Guess with a short explanation, and Nudge 4 reveals the possible words.
Does the solver handle repeated letters?
Yes. If a guess uses the same letter more than once, GuessNudge considers the feedback for every occurrence so it can estimate how many times that letter may appear — including capping the maximum when one occurrence is marked absent.
