About GuessNudge

GuessNudge is a fast, free five-letter word puzzle helper. You enter what your game has already told you, and GuessNudge narrows the compatible words, ranks a strong next guess, and — if you want — gives you a hint instead of the answer.

Our philosophy

Most solvers dump a wall of words at you and the puzzle is over. We think the fun is in making a smarter next guess. That is why the “Give Me a Nudge” panel reveals help in stages: a light hint first, a stronger hint next, then a recommended guess, and only then the full list of possible words.

Independent project

GuessNudge is an independent tool with its own branding, its own filtering engine and its own ranking logic. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The New York Times Company.

How the logic works

• A constraint engine models exact positions, forbidden positions, and minimum and maximum letter counts.
• A separate scoring module rates candidate guesses using letter and position frequency, unique-letter coverage and duplicate penalties.
• Everything runs in your browser, so results feel instant.
